…probably at the point you’re typing ‘hopsital’ instead of ‘hospital’. But hey…onward march…
I found this blog post and thought it was cool, so I’m sharing it: When Should I Go To the ER
I don’t know if it’s just me, but suffering from chronic illness/pain means most of the time I’m like, “nah, I’m overreacting. It may FEEL like my spleen will rupture but it’s just me being a baby. Put your big girl panties on for heavens sake!”
On Friday, doubled over and clutching my left side as if my organs were going to fall out, I was still like, “Nah, I’m just being dramatic, don’t worry.” Luckily on Monday eve I was fed up and, hunched over the steering wheel breathing like a psycho down a phone-line, I drove myself (yes, independent woman, didn’t feel like bugging anyone) to the ER. In case you’re wondering (or even if you aren’t) I am still battling whatever this flare up is.
So I often wonder what warrants a trip to the ER and thought this article was written in a humorous way that all us spoonie-type people can giggle at. For me, I only head to the ER if I can no longer walk or or move due to the pain. Although I am beginning to think that this lack-of-hunger-nausea-pain-all-over-dizziness is not in line with my normal flare ups. But I can’t remember. So I booked a healing massage for tomorrow morning to see if that would help. Granted, this massage is more expensive that my normal GP visit…but massage vs more pills and needles…massage won this time, sorry.
